The Falkland Islands Dependencies King George VI stamps were printed from 1944 until about 1949. The initial versions were Falkland Islands stamps overprinted with the various island name. Other than a few color shades, this is not a difficult set to sort. This was replaced by a set showing a map of the area. The initial version was so full of flaws that it was redrawn. As a result, you will find the Thick Map and the Thin Map versions of this set. The easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the quality of the drawing. The Thin Map version tends to have finer lines on it. You will also see the the diagonal line near the top left corner extends beyond the map area on the Thick Map version and stops at the edge on the Thin Map stamp.

The pages are from my collection, and are identified by the Commonwealth, Gibbons, and Scott numbers in that order. The page images were scanned in a larger size and at a higher resolution so you can more easily see the details used in viewing them. Feel free to select the page and let it download to your screen and save it to your hard drive for viewing. If you are using a PC, selecting the page will typically open it in Microsoft Photo Viewer (or whatever you are using as your default). From there you can enlarge the size for more close-up viewing. If you are using a phone - go find a PC or a Mac. The images are 1200 pixels wide and you will go mad trying to view them on your phone.
